Inspiration Friday: Photographing Children

For my first child, my mom bought us a photography package through a local photographer to get her newborn – 3 – 6 – 9 – 12 month pictures. This morning we finally got the last of these.. her 12 month pictures {even though she’s 14.5 months lol} and lets just say she was less than cooperative! So today I thought I would post some “professional” children’s photos because it definitely requires some skill!

I think in the future we’ll be attempting our own photography with our kids . What do the rest of you with kids do? Do you do “milestone” pictures? And do you do them yourself or leave it to the “professionals”?

  1. We do our own, my husband is a photographer and it's a ton of fun to get out there (usually outside, great natural lighting + beautiful landscape) and have fun as a family taking goofy, silly and sweet photos. Sophie is completely used to being in front of the camera.. we've been snapping away since the day she was born. That's not to say she's always in the mood to have her pictures taken, of course!

We rented a local photo studio a while back and it was a blast. I want to do that again soon. That way, we had a large white back drop to use and lighting equipment.

I LOVE the picture with the little girl in front of the "4" for her age. That's awesome. Sophie just turned 5 in February.. makes me want to go find a big huge 5 somewhere!
