4th of July Fun!

This year for the Fourth we drove up to the Lake the night before and headed home right after the fireworks. {Wes and his silly job!}

We started the morning off with a boat ride while it was still relatively cool, then lined up to watch the parade. Our afternoon was spent lounging around the house, having fun outside by the playground/water & playing games with the family. Then of course we watched some amazing fireworks before heading home. Overall, it was a pretty fun day!

  1. Hayden is so cute 🙂 That looks like a fun day. We didn't have fireworks, because of the fires here in Colorado. The fireworks shows were canceled this year. But I made Sophie some faux "fireworks" (I posted about it on my blog) to open for fun. We went to the splash ground earlier in the morning. It didn't really bother me to miss the fireworks, but Sophie would have liked to see them. Hopefully next year we won't have any fires!

  2. O yeah I heard about that! {the fireworks being cancelled that it… i think everyone knows about the fires!} I will definitely have to check out your post… sounds fun 🙂 Are you guys close to the fires at all?? Sad Sophie had to miss the fireworks 🙁

  3. Yes, we are in Boulder where the Flagstaff fire was. But the Waldo Canyon fire in Colorado Springs was the worst, and the High Park Fire in Fort Collins was worse than ours as well. Our air quality has been very bad, they just lifted the alerts a few days ago. We had to stay in for most of the past 2 weeks.
